"SPS Gandhi Nagar Shines in ATL Marathon Competition: A Journey of Innovation and Success"

We are glad to announce that SPS Gandhi Nagar has qualified in the top 300 teams out of 20,000 in the ATL Marathon competition. From there, we moved up to the top 75, where our students got the opportunity to participate in the Student Internship Program (SIP). These students then advanced to the top 30, earning the chance to participate in the Student Entrepreneurship Program (SEP), for which they received a cheque of ₹21,500. This cheque was awarded by La Foundation Dassault Systems, a France-based company that launched the entrepreneurship program in collaboration with NITI Aayog. Our students reached the semi-finals and secured a spot in the top 10 across India, where they developed a smart drone delivery system for their project. Sagarites explore Premier Research Institutes at Lucknow

From December 19 to December 21, 2023, students of Classes IX to XI from the Science stream, embarked on an enlightening trip to Lucknow as part of the ASPIRE program. The objective was to delve into the operations of four esteemed CSIR institutes and explore historical landmarks. With 22 students participating, the visit provided a unique experiential learning opportunity at cutting-edge institutes equipped with modern amenities. Students gained valuable insights into diverse departments, laboratories and historical sites of Lucknow, igniting their interest and inspiring some to contemplate career paths in various scientific branches. Throughout the trip, the students visited CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute on Day 1, where they were informed about 14 drugs developed by the institute and gained insights into drug making and testing on animals. The visit continued to Kukrail Alligator Breeding Park, offering a comprehensive view of the alligator breeding process. Ambedkar Park showcased the remarkable craftsmanship of Indian artisans with 124 monumental elephants spread across 108 acres. On Day 2, students explored CSIR-Indian Institute of Botanical Research, housing lakhs of plant species and living fossils, along with CSIR-Birbal Sahni Institute of Palaeosciences. Historical places such as Hazratganj and Aminabad were also part of the itinerary. Day 3 included a visit to the Indian Institute of Toxicology, where students experienced projects displayed at a Science Fair and Imambara, a significant historical attraction built in the 18th century by Nawab Asaf-ud-Daula. On 21 April 2023, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated the Earth Day on a unique theme - ‘DISCONNECT TO CONNECT” for the complete school to include staff members, students and parents. This theme was selected with an aim to allow everyone to declutter their minds from the fogs of mobile, internet, online contents and harmful radiations and enourage development of inter- personal relationships, engage in communication with each other and build long lasting friendships. One of the objective of this day was also to spend time with mother Earth and contribute meaningfully in efforts to conserve our nature. The Digital Detox day commenced with young RJ's of the school apprising everyone about the essence and relavance of this unique theme. Age appropriate ways to utilise the digital detox time were also suggested by the Sagarites of Classes Nursery to X through a video presented during the drive Subsequently, a Disconnect to Connect drive was also undertaken to make everyone realise the importance of human relationships and empathy towards others. “A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of their universe.” Under the able guidance of Respected Madam Principal, an Orientation Programme was organized for the parents of Classes VI to VIII on March 28, 2023 and March 29, 2023. The aim was to familiarize the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. The programme gave them an assurance that the curriculum involves self-directed, hands-on learning activities which not only give vent to their creative talents and energies but also aid in their child’s holistic development. Parents also participated in the Open Forum to express their suggestions and for the redressal of their queries followed by high tea. Final PTM of the Academic Session 2022-23

Alongwith it an extravagant show of art work of talented Sagarites was displayed in the school. It was highly appreciated by enthusiastic parents, admiring the creative work of students under the able guidance of teachers. We had a great interaction between the parents and the teachers for the development of their children where they discussed both the strengths and areas where the child can work upon and progress in the coming session. Children were excited to know their new class and class teachers. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress of the students depend on the joint effort, mutual understanding and cooperation of parents and teachers.

National Trip to Hyderabad

Students of Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar embarked on an exciting National Trip to Hyderabad on March 9, 2023. The purpose of this trip was to provide the students with a hands-on learning experience and an opportunity to explore the culture and tradition of Hyderabad. The trip lasted for five days and included visits to several sites and cultural experiences. During the trip, the students visited Chaarminar, Salar Jung Museum, Snow World, and Golkonda Fort. At each site, students were given the opportunity to engage, explore, ask questions and participate in hands-on activities. The highlights of the trip were the Lazer Show at Husain Sagar Lake, Light and Sound Show at the Golkonda Fort and a visit to the famous Ramjoi Film City. Through these sites they were exposed to the local culture, traditions and way of life. In addition to this, they developed a sense of confidence, learnt to be independent and developed a good connect with their teachers. Overall, the trip was a success. The students were able to gain a deeper understanding of the tradition and culture of Hyderabad through hands-on experiences. The positive feedback from the students and their parents was a testimony that the trip was a valuable learning experience for everyone involved.

National Trip to Chittorgarh

An Educational Trip was organised by Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar for the students of Classes IX and XI to world famous historical locations of CHITTORGARH-MOUNT ABU- UDAIPUR. The trip was conducted from 09 Mar to 14 Mar 2023 with an overall aim to introduce the students to the rich history, heritage and culture of the country and state of Rajasthan in particular. While it was a fun- filled, Educational trip but it also had few important learning objectives like to inculcate habit of self learning, visualization, improve social skills and also provide an environment to learn and acquire practical knowledge of these locations alongwith their associated history. The places which were visited are also very famous tourist attraction locations and symbolises peace, harmony as well valour of the brave Rajput warriors. During this trip, the students initially visited Mount Abu, which is highly frequented hill station in Rajasthan and Udaipur, the renowned lake city which is famous for its charm and majestic lakes. The students got an opportunity to visit 'Guru Shikar' - which is the highest peak in the Aravalies (1172 m), 'Om Shanti Bhawan' - where students and teachers understood the importance of taking out time for attaining the inner peace, 'Dilawara Temples' - which are known world over for its fine rock craft and beautiful temple architecture and 'Saheliyon Ki Bari' - a beautiful garden with fountains and intricate designs. Subsequently, the trip moved to Chittorgarh wherein they witnessed the grandeur of 'Victory Tower' or 'Vijay Stambh', a historic tower located in Chittorgarh Fort. The students also attended a majestic Sound and Light Show at Chittorgarh Fort. It was a captivating way to convey the history of the place and make it interesting for everyone to comprehend & remember. At the culmination of this whole trip, the students felt proud of the country and its diverse culture. It was a unique experience and they thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.

Fun Filled Bagless Day

Creativity is intelligence having fun. ~ Albert Einstein ~ On 07 Mar 2023, young Sagarites from Classes III to V enjoyed a 'bagless' day in school, on the last working day of Academic Year 2022-23. The day was made memorable and fun-filled by organising various activities which enriched the learning experience of these students. The spectrum of activities included Zumba, Art and Craft Activity, Paper Bag making, Swimming Activity for the swimmers and Tug of War for the non-swimmers. These activities played a key role in breaking the monotonous Classroom learning and gave each child a chance to express and exhibit their competence, zeal and enthusiasm. The process of these activities and their sucessful completion created special bonding between students as well as between students and teachers. The day ended on a happy note with lot of memories to cherish.

New Parent Orientation

There is no school equal to a decent home and no teacher equal to a virtuous parent" — Mahatma Gandhi A "Parent's Orientation Programme" was organised at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar on 25 Feb 2023 for parents of new admissions with an aim to give them an insight on the ethos and educational values of the school. They were welcomed in the folds of the school and made aware about their responsibilities as 'partners in progress'. This was the first interactive session with these parents and provided them an opportunity to know about the Academic Objectives and Goals of the school, along with the vision and the numerous learning objectives. Parents were also briefed on several unique initiatives being undertaken at school like Blended Learning, Aspire Sessions, Training Modules and Counselling Sessions for the holistic development of the students. Ms. Alpa Prabhu, Principal and Ms. Ritisha Gupta, Vice Principal of the school addressed the parents and introduced the Headmistress, Supervisors and Heads of the Departments. Madam Principal, during her address, mentioned about the journey and vision of the Sagar Group and how it is catering to the basic needs of individuals and impacting communities with a focused mission to ‘Build Nation’. Furthermore, she explained parents about the core values and pillars of the school wherein the guiding principle always remains as ‘Child is Supreme’. She urged everyone to sincerely and diligently work towards the same. She also highlighted the mission statement of the school that integrates the latest Technological Aids, Interdisciplinary Approach and employment of Innovative Pedagogy to shape academic excellence in the school. She also stressed on the importance of sports, performing arts and other extra-curricular activities in bringing out the best from the students. She requested the whole hearted cooperation of all the parents not only to monitor the growth of their child but also indulge in regular interaction with teachers and school authorities to give constructive feedbacks which will accrue benefits to the complete school. Headmistress’ of the school enlightened the parents about the beginning of the new session and various initiatives to be taken by the school to bring out the overall personality enhancement of the students. The Orientation Programme provided a platform to the parents and school authorities to work out a common future roadmap for their children. 74th Republic Day Celebration

"Republic Day is an occasion to mark our respect and gratitude to our great Nation and its Constitution. Today is the day to cherish our freedom and feel proud to be citizen of the largest democracy in the World." Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated 74th Republic Day with complete zeal, enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations began with unfurling of the National Flag in school premises. On this solemn occasion, Sagarites presented various soul-stirring performances to show India's journey to become an Independent, Sovereign and Republic Nation, surmounting all the odds. The sacrifice of the bravehearts who laid down their lives for Nation was also remembered through the rendition of patriotic songs and dance performances which filled everyone's heart with pride. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Ms Alpa Prabhu, Madam Principal, spoke about the importance of our constitution and the fact that we are fortunate to be part of the largest democracy in the world. She also highlighted that we enjoy so many rights which have been provided to us through our Constitution and it is all possible due to vision and hard work of our founding fathers. Dean of Academics, Mr S. S. Shrivastava, also spoke on the occasion. He mentioned about the invaluable role of Armed Forces personnel in safeguarding our borders and giving us unhindered freedom which we enjoy everyday. Inter School Mini Cricket Tournament

It is one of the most played, admired and watched sports on the planet. Playing cricket is like a celebration and it is enjoyed by one and all. To celebrate this festival of sports, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar got the opportunity to host the Inter School Mini Cricket Tournament for Under 12 boys on 20-21 Jan 2023, wherein 11 teams of different schools participated with complete zeal and enthusiasm. This competition was aimed to give a platform to budding cricketing stars and develop sportsmanship spirit in players of different teams. Mr Jatin Saxena, a famous cricketer, who is a former IPL player from the Rajasthan Royals team, was the Chief Guest for the competition. The final was played between Bal Bhavan School and SPS, Rohit Nagar. In this keenly contested match, Bal Bhavan School emerged winners and bagged the coveted Inter School U-12 Boys Mini Cricket Championship Trophy for the year 2023. The participants were subsequently felicitated and awarded individual trophies by the Guest of Honour of Closing Ceremony - Mr. Joyson John, Sports Coordinator, District Education Office. During his closing remarks, he motivated the young players to continue working hard to achieve their dreams and bring glory to the Nation.

National Youth Day

Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is commemorated as National Youth Day on 11 January every year. Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar also celebrated this occasion with zeal and profound gratitude towards this great visionary and patriot. As health and fitness of students plays a pivotal role in school’s curriculum around the year, therefore, the school selected “Yoga" as the main theme to commemorate this day. The aim was to raise concentration levels of students, infuse leaning towards meditation, and continue their journey on the path of 'Healthy Body - Healthy Mind'. Students performed various Yoga asanas in perfect harmony, rhythm and balance. All 12 asanas of Surya Namaskar were also performed by the students to display their strength and agility. The function concluded with a meditation session to give students a chance to introspect and rejuvenate their minds which will ultimately lead to better concentration levels and sense of accomplishment in them.

Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents. Parent Teacher Meeting - IV for Classes Nursery to XI was held on the 7 January, 2023 to create a common platform, wherein teacher and parents came together to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. Discussions were focused on students' specific strengths and weakness in individual subjects, details of various activities organised including academics activities conducted in the school. The healthy discussion between teachers and parents facilitated in evolving innovative teaching methodologies specific to each student and also helped to resolve several issues. Parents were also apprised about the academic performance of their ward and were also shown their answer script. This meeting also provided an opportunity to parents to go through the creative work of their wards which was done through a variety of well planned curricular and co-curricular activities. The event witnessed around 80% attendance of parents thus displaying their enthusiastic interest towards the smooth working and progress of the school. The meeting concluded with a key takeaway that the path of a child's progress is laid by the joint efforts of parents and teachers.

Annual Sports Meet 2022

Autograph your work with excellence.” Jessica Guidobono If there is one field of life that teaches us the most valuable lessons about the fact that perseverance, and patience constitutes a perfect character, it is Sports. 24th of December, 2022, marked the Annual Sports Meet of Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar portraying the zeal, talents and spirit of sportsmanship of our high-spirited Sagarites. The program commenced with the morning assembly in the benign presence of the Chief Guest Mr. Alok Khare who himself is the General Secretary of the School Games federation of India, an excellent sportsman and a profound businessman. In his address he guided and motivated the students that sports and academics go hand in hand and those who keep a balance between the two excel and succeed. A robust mind and a lively body is the fundamental requirement to live a long and happy life and our belief in the same was seamlessly displayed in a heart warming and soul nourishing Yoga and Mass Demonstration that aimed to enlighten the audience about the merits of living a fit and healthy life. The program plunged the audience into a deep sense of discipline and chauvinism with a very synchronised display of March Past headed by the Head boy and Head girl of the school followed by all the house bearers of the four houses. Sagarites right from Nursery to Class XII performed and participated in the Annual Sports Meet through different relay races, and athletic events and won various positions. One of the key highlighted moment for the day was felicitation of all the best players - Boy and Girl from nine different sports. Among all the players the Best Sports Person of the year 2022 was given to Divyansh Shakya IX D. Various Annual awards for different fields like Literary Academic, Cultural, and Discipline were awarded. The award for the Best Student of the Year was conferred to Devansh Mishra and Sanchita Gupta of Class V. The winners were awarded in the presence of their parents and the enthusiasm and Sagarion spirit could be seen in each Sagarite that filled their heart with the zeal to win and succeed in all walks of life.

Flip a Book Activity

Jacketed or rugged, the smell empowers you. Sagarites of Nursery to Class V excitedly participated in an innovative and cohesive Flip a book activity conducted on Dec 19, 2022, wherein they exchanged the books already read by them with their friends. The objective of this activity was to show our Sagarites a path to acquire knowledge, develop camaraderie with each other and imbibe sense of inclusivity on the common platform of acquiring knowledge from peers and friends. The activity was also aimed at motivating young readers and make them understand the worth of sharing with others. Students were amazed, happy and fascinated at the same time that their books will reach others and books owned by others will be theirs now. Students thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing session which provided them an opportunity to choose new books and were eclectic to get through it by reading them.

agar Utsav - Celebrating Knowledge The season of learning and recreation is here, let us spread fun, love, cheer and make life a celebration of fun-filled learning, because at #SPS, every day is an Utsav. A colorful extravaganza, ‘Sagar Utsav’, mingled with fun and lots of learning was organized at Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar on Sunday, December 18, 2022, for celebrating knowledge through a fun-filled experience. It was a unique fair that had something in store for everyone. An enchanting storytelling session by famous psychologist, Ms. Jyoti Pande took the onlookers to an imaginary trail of mystifying stories with valuable tips on parenting and nurturing young minds. An enterprising career fair was held to help children in exploring, planning and excelling in various fields. Eminent universities like #CRISP, #UPES, #NID, #AZIM PREM JI, #SISTec, #IISER and many more facilitated career guidance and suggested diverse avenues to the students. A Book fair for book lovers with an interesting activity, Flip a Book was organized wherein children exchanged their old books and also bought books of different genres. Yet another attraction of the event was the SPS Recreational Zone which comprised of activities like Puppet Show, Zumba, and various games like target basketball, gladiator, target shooter, musical chair and poolside games which enthralled the parents and the students. The selfie board and the lucky coupon draw box were the points of excitement for all. The event ended on a cheerful note where all the participants left with memories to cherish and knowledge to generate curiosity and zeal to create something great artistically.

Scholarship Awards-Accolades Galore

It was time to meet and bless Sagarites as they achieved yet another milestone in their life. It was time to remember that success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness follows. Yes, it was time for the Scholarship Awards: 2021-22. With immense pleasure, we at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar hosted the Felicitation Ceremony, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 for Class X and XII (2021-22) and disbursed scholarship amount ranging from Rupees 5000 to Rs 1,60,000 to the meritorious students who had scored perfect 100 or 96 % and above in the board exams. Scholarships were also awarded to students who excelled in Performing Arts. The gleaming faces of the teachers, students and parents bore testimony to their pride and happiness- the sweet fruit of toil and labour. The ceremony was witnessed by the present batch of X and XII who left with dreams in their eyes and responsibility on their shoulders.

Aashirwaad - The Grandparents Day

“When God created Grandparents, the world was truly blessed with all the special joys that make a family happiest. To show gratitude to their grandparents, for their tireless efforts, unconditional love, kindness, patience and care, the young Sagarites of class II invited their grandparents and celebrated Aashirwaad - The Grandparents Day on September 17, 2022. As a mark of tradition, the programme began by seeking blessing from the Almighty. The programme was followed by a graceful saraswati vandana, melodious song performance, mesmerizing folk dance and thoughtful skit which touched the hearts of our grandparents. Many exciting games were also conducted to make the grandparents remember their older days. Towards the end, the pandora box was opened with colourful pictures creating everlasting memories of grandparents with their grandchildren. Sagarites showered their love and gratitude by giving hand made bookmarks to their grandparents wishing them good health and all the happiness in life.

“Carpe Diem, Seize the Day”

“A great leader can engage in a debate frankly and thoroughly knowing well that at the end, he and the other side will come closer and thus emerge stronger.” (Nelson Mandela) With this perspective, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar organised the ninth edition of the Inter School Debate Competition, “Carpe Diem - Seize the Day” on September 3, 2022. The topic of the debate was, “Electric vehicles are the wave of the future.” The judges for the event were Dr. Deepa S. Kumar, Professor, MLB College and Dr. Mitradeep Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professor, IISER. Speakers from 18 prestigious schools of the city vied for the honours, using skills like overstatement rhetoric and irony to convince the audience. All the teams exhibited great oratorical skills and validated their arguments confidently and emphatically. In the engrossing and fiery exchange of thoughts and ideas that were based on thoroughly researched facts and not merely opinions, the debate served its purpose of igniting young minds to newer ways of thinking and acting. At the end of the heated but engaging debate, Arpit Chatrasal of St. Paul Co-Ed School bagged the 1st prize For the Motion and Pravallika Pandey of Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar bagged the 1st prize Against the Motion. Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar was awarded the rolling trophy for being the overall winner. Roopanshi Khare of Army Public School, Bhopal was declared the runners up For the Motion and Aadya Singh of Delhi Public School, Kolar Road was declared runners up Against the Motion. Best Interjector for and against the motion were won by Chaitanya Sharma (for the motion) and Anviksha Shrivastava (against the motion) from Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar. The winners were awarded with trophies, certificates, kindles, smart watches and Bluetooth speakers. The mentor teachers of all the schools also received a token of appreciation. The day concluded with participation certificates and food packet distribution to all the teams along with the group photographs of all the teams as a souvenir.

Soulful Expressions-Nrityollas 2022-23

To ignite patriotic fervour in young hearts, close to the heels of Independence Day, Senior Inter House- Nrityollas and Junior Inter House-Soulful Expressions was organised on 10 Aug 2022 on the theme, Unsung Heroes in the Indian Freedom Struggle. All houses of the school participated in the same and depicted the sacrifices of Unsung heroes through their captivating Dance- Drama Performances. Sagarites celebrated the bravery and sacrifices of Jhalkari Bai, Birsa Munda, Pritilata Wadedar, Pandurang Mahadev Bapat, Komaram Bhim, Tanaji, Matangini Hazra and Dasharath Manjhi. The dance fiesta witnessed a neck to neck competition & some heart touching performances by the students.
