A highly informative session on Cyber Security and Cyber Crime was conducted for students of Classes IX to XII and teachers of the Computer Department. The session was led by esteemed guest speaker Mr. P.S. Chauhan, Head of the Department - Cyber Security at SiSTec Gandhi Nagar. Mr. Chauhan began by introducing the basics and significance of cyber security, highlighting its crucial role in today's digital age. He delved into various types of cyber crimes, including phishing, malware attacks, identity theft, and online fraud, providing real-world examples to illustrate each threat. Field trip to ISRO by Sagarites of Classes XI & XII

Sagarites of Classes XI and XII visited ISRO's Master Control Facility (MCF). They explored The Story of Spacecraft Control, tracing the journey from ancient astronomers like Bhaskara to modern scholars like Galileo and Newton. ISRO scientists explained stages of Rocket Science, including assembly, launch, and satellite maintenance. Students were captivated by the advanced computer systems managing satellite orbits and Satellite Health amidst extreme conditions. They also learned about Geostationary Satellite orbit control and International Space Law. The visit covered NSKK Manoeuvre System and decommissioning of old satellites. Inspired, students inquired about careers at ISRO. The visit underscored the impact of INSAT-1A on communication, education, and more, leaving students grateful for India's scientific achievements.

Sagarites shine at Graviton Inter School Badminton Tournament

We are happy to share that Sagarites of Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar participated in the Graviton Inter School Badminton Tournament held at Ivy Global School from July 11- 12 July, 2024. Our Sagarites participated in the Under 11 Boys Singles category in which Sarthak Makhija (VII F) reached the finals by defeating Sanskar Valley in the semi-finals and Karan Makhija (VII-E) also reached the finals by defeating DPS Kolar in the semi-finals. Achievement of our Sagarites are as follows:- ⏺️ Sarthak Makhijaand Karan Makhija won the Gold medal and Silver medal respectively. ⏺️ Ujjawal Khandelwal (VII E) played the III position match and bagged the Bronze Medal We congratulate our young shuttlers for a roaring start to the session along with their Mentor Mr. Ashish Pradhan for training them so well.

A formal tete a tete featuring the alumni of the school- distinguished speakers from diverse fields, including the corporate sector, academia, the Navy, and law, marked the occasion. This session provided current students with valuable insights and practical advice from professionals who had once walked the same halls. Akanksha Bajaj, batch 2012, Head of Operations and Strategy OVH, emphasized the importance of self-care and maintaining a healthy work-life balance. She discussed strategies for managing stress and the benefits of incorporating meditation into daily routines. She shared practical tips with Sagarites, on creating a compelling LinkedIn profile, connecting with industry professionals, and leveraging the platform to explore career opportunities and gain visibility in their chosen fields. Anakta Prabhu, batch 2022, currently studying at Delhi University shared her experiences and highlighted the significance of self study and prioritizing work for developing independent learning skills. Among other things, she also spoke about taking accountability for one's actions. She highlighted the importance of maintaining connectivity with teachers so as to get valuable guidance, feedback, and support, enhancing the overall learning experience. Aditya Mohanty, batch 2023, now an aspiring marine engineer from SMET, spoke about the discipline and resilience required in their field. Red Day Celebration

The shades of red made the kids feel bright, lively, and cheerful. The day began with a vibrant splash of red in our Nursery class. During circle time, the teacher discussed the significance and importance of the colour red. The Red Day celebration was a wondrous learning activity that helped the children grasp the concept of primary colours. Both students and teachers donned red attire, and the classrooms were beautifully adorned with red decorations. Our students engaged enthusiastically in discussions about red-coloured objects seen in the class and the environment. The purpose of this was to recognise and understand that colours are crucial aspects of a child's cognitive development and essential skill for everyday life. Red Day is a celebration that introduces and reinforces the colour red in a child's mind, making it a fun and educational experience.

On July 1, 2024, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar, celebrated its Foundation Day and Investiture Ceremony with great enthusiasm and fervour. The event commenced with a special Foundation Day Assembly where students were enlightened about the school's vision and its journey towards academic excellence. A highlight of the assembly was the Alumni Talk, where former students shared their experiences and the pivotal role the school played in shaping their future, inspiring the students to strive for greatness. Following the assembly, the Investiture Ceremony took center stage, aiming to honour the newly installed cabinet leaders with badges. Flip learning by the Sagarites of Classes VI-X where Homework became Class work with interesting presentations and discussions became the highlight of the reopening day after summer vacation. He motivated the campers on self discipline, healthy diet and rigorous practice to achieve their goals. With 22 students participating, the visit provided a unique experiential learning opportunity at cutting-edge institutes equipped with modern amenities. Students gained valuable insights into diverse departments, laboratories and historical sites of Lucknow, igniting their interest and inspiring some to contemplate career paths in various scientific branches. Throughout the trip, the students visited CSIR-Central Drug Research Institute on Day 1, where they were informed about 14 drugs developed by the institute and gained insights into drug making and testing on animals. The visit continued to Kukrail Alligator Breeding Park, offering a comprehensive view of the alligator breeding process. Ambedkar Park showcased the remarkable craftsmanship of Indian artisans with 124 monumental elephants spread across 108 acres. Carpe Diem 2023 - Inter school Debate Competition

"In the arena of ideas, debate is the compass that navigates us towards the shores of understanding." Embracing the art of thoughtful discourse, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar, organised the tenth edition of the Inter School Debate Competition, “Carpe Diem - Seize the Day,” on November 22, 2022. The event illuminated diverse perspectives on the topic, "Gene Editing violates the principle of the survival of the fittest." The esteemed judges of the event were Ms Meet Sukrati, Head of Communications at Toprankers and Dr Rahul Shrivastava, Professor and Head of the Department of Biological Science and Engineering at MANIT Bhopal. Representatives from 14 distinguished schools engaged in a verbal joust, employing rhetorical devices and exceptional skills to captivate the audience.The teams showcased exceptional oratorical prowess, substantiating their arguments with confidence and conviction. The debate, grounded in well-researched facts rather than mere opinions, achieved its aim of inspiring young minds to embrace novel perspectives. In the culmination of this intense yet riveting exchange, Aditi Awdhani of Delhi Public School, Kolar secured the first position For the Motion, while Ananya Kulkarni of Delhi Public School, Kolar claimed the first position Against the Motion. Delhi Public School, Kolar clinched the coveted rolling trophy for emerging as the overall winner. Pravalika Pandey of Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar and Pranshu Sharma of Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar were declared runners-up For and Against the Motion respectively. The titles of Best Interjector for and against the motion were awarded to Unnati Joshi from Navnidh Hassomal Lakhani School and Aarya Raja from Sagar Public School, Rohit Nagar respectively. Acknowledging their achievements, winners received trophies, certificates, smartwatches and Bluetooth speakers. Mentor teachers from all schools were also presented with tokens of appreciation. The day concluded with the distribution of participation certificates, food packets to all the teams and group photographs as cherished mementos.

Fifth Annual Meet Celebrated with Fanfare

The ambience turned nostalgic when *SPS Gandhi Nagar held its annual Alumni Meet*, on November 9, bringing together the pearls of Sagar from different batches and providing a platform for them to reconnect, share experiences, and relive their school memories as they walked down the memory lane together. The Meet featured a short cultural programme where alumni from different fields shared their talents, expressions and experiences. This served as a source of inspiration for current students who got a glimpse into the diverse career paths their predecessors had taken. The music and games added a festive touch to the event. The alumni had the chance to network with each other, fostering professional connections and collaboration, thereby emphasizing the strong bond that the school has created over the years. It was a heartwarming and memorable event that yet again reinforced the strong bond between Sagarites and their alma mater, Sagar Public School.

Biology Students of SPS Gandhi Nagar visit Sagar Multispeciality Hospital

On October 13, 2023 Biology students from Classes XI and XII embarked on an insightful visit to Sagar Multispeciality Hospital in Bhopal. The objective of this visit was to delve into the functioning of a comprehensive and technologically advanced hospital. A total of 44 students participated, seizing a distinctive experiential learning opportunity within this state-of-the-art medical facility. It was an eye-opener as they gained invaluable insights into various departments and branches of Medical Science. The hospital houses a myriad of departments including Oncology, Dermatology, Arthritis, Dentistry, Gastroenterology, Neurology, Psychiatry, Ophthalmology, Pediatrics, Obstetrics and Gynecology, Cath lab, CCU, ICU unit, Hemodialysis unit, MRI, CT SCAN, USG unit, Histopathological and Biochemical labs - all outfitted with cutting-edge technology and modern amenities. Witnessing this interdisciplinary marvel captivated the students' interest, inspiring some to contemplate potential careers in diverse medical domains. The impact of this visit was profound, broadened the students' horizons in the realm of healthcare.

ASPIRE sessions on Mental Wellbeing

In a proactive initiative to address the crucial aspect of mental wellbeing, two engaging ASPIRE Sessions were conducted at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar. The first session, held on October 10, 2023, was tailored for the students of Classes XI and XII, featuring Dr. Anuradha Kushwah, a distinguished Child and Adolescent Psychologist from AIIMS, Bhopal. The following day, October 11, 2023, witnessed an enlightening session designed for the younger minds of Classes IX and X, led by Mr. Mohit Kumar, a Clinical Psychologist from AIIMS, Bhopal. During these impactful sessions, the experts delved into the multifaceted dimensions of mental health, emphasizing the necessity of a healthy mind in today's fast-paced world. With a rich repertoire of cinematic achievements, Mr. Agnihotri introduced his latest literary jewel, "The Book of Life: My Dance with Buddha for Success" to an eager audience of students. Meri Maati Mera Desh Campaign

As part of the Meri Maati Mera Desh campaign for Azadi Ka Amrit Mahotsav, a tribute event was organized at Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar on September 29, 2023. The event honoured the parents of Martyr, Group Captain Varun Singh, Shourya Chakra, showcasing their inspiring story to instill patriotism in the students. Ms. Uma Singh and Col. K. P. Singh shared their son's inspiring journey, conveying the core values of patriotism. Tourism Ideathon - Documentary Film Making Competition

"Brand India' is built of 5 Ts - Talent, Tradition, Tourism, Trade and Technology."- Shri Narendra Modi In today’s digital world, educating young minds through exploration is vital. Tourism, a crucial sector of the economy and a tool for national integration, stands at the core of 'Brand India.' The Ministry of Tourism, in collaboration with CBSE, encourages schools to embrace this vision by establishing 'YUVA Tourism Clubs' and promoting activities that celebrate India's heritage and culture." Aligned with the visionary approach of our Prime Minister, the school organized a Tourism Documentary Film Making Competition- 'Tourism Ideathon' on September 26, 2023. The event was graced by Dr. Nilima Verma, Director of Madhya Pradesh Institute of Travel and Tourism Studies and Ms. Suvrata Yadav, Faculty from the National Institute of Design, Madhya Pradesh, who participated as esteemed Judges. The judging criteria encompassed aspects such as presentation and compilation, photography, content and narration, creativity and the underlying message. All eleven documentaries presented by various schools were commendably crafted, showcasing the immense talent and creativity of the young participants. The competition was organized to enhance the vocabulary and spelling skills of the students. This learning activity was accompanied by fun rounds that sparked competitive spirit among the students. The event was a resounding success, imparting wisdom to the participants by presenting them with exciting challenges. The thoughtfully chosen and amusing team names added to the overall enjoyment. A notable aspect of the competition was that it was based on the content of the English book of the students. With the aim of igniting patriotic fervour, an Inter House Patriotic Dance Competition - 'Nrityollas', themed - 'Progressive India', was organised at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar. The stage burst to life as students from different houses delivered stunning performances. Dance troupes from various houses captivated the audience with their displays. Striking costumes, graceful dance moves and captivating props made it challenging for the judges to choose a winner. Each house showcased a different facet of Progressive India. Arawali House presented the theme "Back to Roots", Himachal House focused on "Artists", Satpura House explored "Science and Technology" and Vindhyachal House celebrated "Sports". The goal was to introduce the students and parents to the advantages of this approach, which seamlessly combines board exam preparation with competitive exam readiness. The session, exclusively organized for students from classes X to XII, featured the esteemed resource person Dr. Amarjeet Singh Khalsa Group Director IPER, Bhopal, as the keynote speaker. Dr. Khalsa eloquently delved into the world of startups and illuminated their significance in today's dynamic landscape. He passionately emphasized the criticality of choosing the right academic stream and shed light on how diverse fields contribute to the collective growth of our nation. He graciously accepted the painting I offered, and upon my request, he granted me the permission to recite my poem. His firm agreement was followed by genuine delight and appreciation for my words. In a humble gesture, he inquired about my school, Class and subject, leaving me deeply honored and filled with pride for this cherished conversation with our Honourable Prime Minister of India. With the theme of Vasudhaiva Kutumbakam One Earth one Family one Future 9th International Yoga Day was celebrated at Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar on 21st June 2023. Many fun-filled activities were organized for the Sagarites to beat the scorching heat. The activities included craft, indoor games, bird feeding and a presentation about the importance of water. The young Sagarites participated in an array of activities where they decorated popsicle sticks, took pictures at the selfie corner, played indoor games set up at different stations in the school premises, prepared beautiful bird feeders, presented a story highlighting the importance of water, consumed fruits and had fun dancing in the pool. The "Beat the Heat Day" turned out to be an enjoyable day full of learning, happiness, and joy. ????????????????????????????

Sagarites of Classes X-XII attended a Career Fair

The Sagarites of Classes X-XII attended a Career Fair organised at Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar on April 28, 2023. This event was an unparalleled opportunity for the students to interact with representatives from various companies and learn about potential job opportunities and academic courses. The fair was a resounding success, with a large turnout of eager students and representatives from top universities. The students were particularly thrilled to have the chance to engage with eminent universities like UPES, Ashoka, Pearl and MIT. These universities provided invaluable insights and guidance to the students, offering information on academic programs and courses that are most relevant to their interests and career goals. The students were informed about various processes regarding entrance exams and admissions and were able to network with industry professionals, learn about job opportunities and gain a better understanding of the various career options available to them. Overall, the Career Fair was an outstanding resource for students that gave them a newfound sense of purpose and the information they need to make informed decisions about their future.

Earth Day Celebration

"Disconnecting from our technology to reconnect with ourselves is absolutely essential for wisdom."???????? - Arianna Huffing ???????? Earth Day is an annual celebration that honors the achievements of the environmental movement and raises awareness of the need to protect Earth’s natural resources for future generations. On 21 April 2023, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated the Earth Day on a unique theme - ‘DISCONNECT TO CONNECT” for the complete school to include staff members, students and parents. This theme was selected with an aim to allow everyone to declutter their minds from the fogs of mobile, internet, online contents and harmful radiations and enourage development of inter- personal relationships, engage in communication with each other and build long lasting friendships. One of the objective of this day was also to spend time with mother Earth and contribute meaningfully in efforts to conserve our nature. The Digital Detox day commenced with young RJ's of the school apprising everyone about the essence and relavance of this unique theme. Age appropriate ways to utilise the digital detox time were also suggested by the Sagarites of Classes Nursery to X through a video presented during the drive Subsequently, a Disconnect to Connect drive was also undertaken to make everyone realise the importance of human relationships and empathy towards others. Parents also participated in this with great enthusiasm and initiative. They also took a pledge to reduce their digital time and spend more time with their family and children and lead by example. ????‍????‍????‍???? They also committed that they will now spend more time with their dear ones and rejoice the bliss of spending time with grandparents, utilise the time in reading books, exercise, aim for mindfulness and will reduce stress through the means of yoga & meditation, imbibe a hobby or pursue a passion. The theme of this year's Earth Day was well understood by one and all and they observed all the guidelines enthusiastically throughout the day. ????????

Introductory PTM

”The school's best ally in the task of nurturing a student's innate 'urge to learn' is, first and foremost, the parents." Envisioning this idea, an Introductory PTM on April 21, 2023 was conducted. The prime objective of the PTM was to create a common platform, where teacher and parents come together to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. Parents were encouraged to promote student’s participation in all yearly activities. This helped to create the necessary consciousness among parents to stimulate their interest in the students and the school. They appreciated the efforts and hard work of the teachers in providing children with an enriching environment helping them to learn and grow. Pledging to contribute in sustainable development and to celebrate Earth Day, a presentation on Digital Detox and Family Time was also showcased by Sagarites wherein they shared various ways to spend quality time away from digital gadgets. Parents also pledged to support this initiative and suggested various measures to spread this idea in the masses. The PTM concluded with the joint effort, mutual understanding and co-operation of parents and teachers for the holistic development and progress of Sagarites.

Career Counseling Session

On April 18, 2023, a team from the Air Force, headed by Wing Commander- Brahmanand Mishra, conducted a Career Counselling Session for the students of Classes IX, X and XI at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar. The session aimed to provide information about the various career avenues available in the Air Force. The session started with a presentation that provided an overview of the Air Force, its mission and its core values. The officers explained about the different branches of the Air Force and a wide range of career opportunities available in them. The team also discussed the educational, physical and personal requirements to join the Air Force, including the eligibility criteria, selection process and training programs. The session included interactive discussions and a question-and-answer session. The team patiently addressed the students' queries and shared their own experiences and insights. The session was informative and engaging, providing students with valuable insights into the various career avenues available in the Air Force.

DEAR Day Activity

"Becoming a strong reader is essential for being a lifelong learner." D.E.A.R Day (Drop Everything And Read) was celebrated with great pomp and splendour, in classes Nursery to XII, on April 12, 2023 at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar. This day is celebrated every year to mark the birth anniversary of the beloved Newbery Medal winning author, Beverly Cleary. It also aims at instilling the practice of reading among students and introducing them to the wonderful and enlightening world of books. The students unleashed the magic of books by dwelling into the world of stories and imagination. Each one of them enjoyed reading the book of their choice which included picture books, chapter books with a huge variety of genres such as non-fiction, fantasy and comic. Invigorating activities like Rendezvous with the Author, Character Party and Writer Interviews were organised to develop and grow the interest of students in reading. The activities proved fruitful in promoting positive reading culture among the young learners.

Parents Orientation for Classes VI to VIII

“A parent is a teacher at home and a teacher is a parent in school and the child is the centre of their universe.” Under the able guidance of Respected Madam Principal, an Orientation Programme was organized for the parents of Classes VI to VIII on March 28, 2023 and March 29, 2023. The aim was to familiarize the parents, “as partners in progress” with the curriculum, rules and regulations of the school, teaching methodologies and the co-scholastic activities. The programme gave them an assurance that the curriculum involves self-directed, hands-on learning activities which not only give vent to their creative talents and energies but also aid in their child’s holistic development. Parents also participated in the Open Forum to express their suggestions and for the redressal of their queries followed by high tea. Overall it was a fruitful programme and the parents were in high spirits after attending it.

Storytelling Session by Ms. Geeta Ramanujan

"Storytelling is the most powerful way to put ideas into the world." To dive into the ocean of stories Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar under the aegis of Teachers’ Training Cell organized a Two day Storytelling Beginners Workshop by Internationally acclaimed storyteller Ms. Geeta Ramanujam who empowered the teachers with tips and techniques of becoming a true storyteller. The workshop was highly engaging and enriching, which turned the learned teachers into keen observers as Ms. Geeta emphasized to observe everything around us, may it be animals, nature or any person. Take inspiration from your surroundings to bring innovation in your own storytelling. The two days training was fruitful which transformed fortunate teachers into budding Storytellers.

Art & Craft Exhibition @ SPS Gandhi Nagar

Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar, Bhopal, was abuzz with excitement and fervour on 18th March 2023 as it was the day of their Art and Craft Exhibition, SPECTRUM. The objective of the exhibition was to bring forth the innate skills and hone the creative genius of the students. The exhibition provided the right platform for the students of all grades to display the varied and beautiful articles prepared by them throughout this academic year. All the items on display were the handwork of the students which were made from indigenous products. There were corners in the exhibition attributed to art, jewellery, painting, best out of waste, paper mache, paper lanterns and many more.

Final PTM of the Academic Session 2022-23

“Success means having the courage, the determination and the will to become the person you believe you were meant to be" Final PTM of the session 2022-23 was conducted at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar. Alongwith it an extravagant show of art work of talented Sagarites was displayed in the school. It was highly appreciated by enthusiastic parents, admiring the creative work of students under the able guidance of teachers. We had a great interaction between the parents and the teachers for the development of their children where they discussed both the strengths and areas where the child can work upon and progress in the coming session. Children were excited to know their new class and class teachers. The PTM came to an end with the conclusion that the progress of the students depend on the joint effort, mutual understanding and cooperation of parents and teachers.

National Trip to Hyderabad

Students of Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar embarked on an exciting National Trip to Hyderabad on March 9, 2023. The purpose of this trip was to provide the students with a hands-on learning experience and an opportunity to explore the culture and tradition of Hyderabad. The trip lasted for five days and included visits to several sites and cultural experiences. During the trip, the students visited Chaarminar, Salar Jung Museum, Snow World, and Golkonda Fort. At each site, students were given the opportunity to engage, explore, ask questions and participate in hands-on activities. The highlights of the trip were the Lazer Show at Husain Sagar Lake, Light and Sound Show at the Golkonda Fort and a visit to the famous Ramjoi Film City. Through these sites they were exposed to the local culture, traditions and way of life. In addition to this, they developed a sense of confidence, learnt to be independent and developed a good connect with their teachers. Overall, the trip was a success. The students were able to gain a deeper understanding of the tradition and culture of Hyderabad through hands-on experiences. The positive feedback from the students and their parents was a testimony that the trip was a valuable learning experience for everyone involved.

National Trip to Chittorgarh

An Educational Trip was organised by Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar for the students of Classes IX and XI to world famous historical locations of CHITTORGARH-MOUNT ABU- UDAIPUR. The trip was conducted from 09 Mar to 14 Mar 2023 with an overall aim to introduce the students to the rich history, heritage and culture of the country and state of Rajasthan in particular. While it was a fun- filled, Educational trip but it also had few important learning objectives like to inculcate habit of self learning, visualization, improve social skills and also provide an environment to learn and acquire practical knowledge of these locations alongwith their associated history. The places which were visited are also very famous tourist attraction locations and symbolises peace, harmony as well valour of the brave Rajput warriors. During this trip, the students initially visited Mount Abu, which is highly frequented hill station in Rajasthan and Udaipur, the renowned lake city which is famous for its charm and majestic lakes. The students got an opportunity to visit 'Guru Shikar' - which is the highest peak in the Aravalies (1172 m), 'Om Shanti Bhawan' - where students and teachers understood the importance of taking out time for attaining the inner peace, 'Dilawara Temples' - which are known world over for its fine rock craft and beautiful temple architecture and 'Saheliyon Ki Bari' - a beautiful garden with fountains and intricate designs. Subsequently, the trip moved to Chittorgarh wherein they witnessed the grandeur of 'Victory Tower' or 'Vijay Stambh', a historic tower located in Chittorgarh Fort. The students also attended a majestic Sound and Light Show at Chittorgarh Fort. It was a captivating way to convey the history of the place and make it interesting for everyone to comprehend & remember. At the culmination of this whole trip, the students felt proud of the country and its diverse culture. It was a unique experience and they thoroughly enjoyed every moment of it.

Fun Filled Bagless Day

Creativity is intelligence having fun. ~ Albert Einstein ~ On 07 Mar 2023, young Sagarites from Classes III to V enjoyed a 'bagless' day in school, on the last working day of Academic Year 2022-23. The day was made memorable and fun-filled by organising various activities which enriched the learning experience of these students. The spectrum of activities included Zumba, Art and Craft Activity, Paper Bag making, Swimming Activity for the swimmers and Tug of War for the non-swimmers. These activities played a key role in breaking the monotonous Classroom learning and gave each child a chance to express and exhibit their competence, zeal and enthusiasm. The process of these activities and their sucessful completion created special bonding between students as well as between students and teachers. The day ended on a happy note with lot of memories to cherish.

The Graduation Ceremony

???? “Graduation – is a time to celebrate new beginnings and say goodbye to warm memories of the past and big dreams for the future.” ???? ????️To celebrate the progress and development of students of Pre-Primary, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated ???? Graduation Day ????and applauded the young enthusiastic learners for their commendable performance in the session 2022-2023. ????The students of Class KG-II looked refreshing and vibrant in their graduation gowns, ready to adorn the new colours of Class I just like a new butterfly. ????The programme commenced with the lighting of the ceremonial lamp by our respected Madam Principal-Ms. Alpa Prabhu and Chief Guest of the day-Shri Ravikant Thakur, an author, Educationist and Motivational speaker. It was followed by presentation of Ganesh Vandana and Welcome Song by the Sagarites of Class I and II. ????The programme further proceeded with the presentation by the Graduating Sagarites that left everybody spell bound. ????It was followed by the distribution of Graduation Certificates to the young graduates in their graduation gowns. ????The programme culminated with the screening of a video showcasing their memories captured throughout the year. ????It was indeed a memorable experience for the little ones to be blessed as they begin their journey towards traditional education in the school.

New Parent Orientation

There is no school equal to a decent home and no teacher equal to a virtuous parent" — Mahatma Gandhi A "Parent's Orientation Programme" was organised at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar on 25 Feb 2023 for parents of new admissions with an aim to give them an insight on the ethos and educational values of the school. They were welcomed in the folds of the school and made aware about their responsibilities as 'partners in progress'. This was the first interactive session with these parents and provided them an opportunity to know about the Academic Objectives and Goals of the school, along with the vision and the numerous learning objectives. Parents were also briefed on several unique initiatives being undertaken at school like Blended Learning, Aspire Sessions, Training Modules and Counselling Sessions for the holistic development of the students. Ms. Alpa Prabhu, Principal and Ms. Ritisha Gupta, Vice Principal of the school addressed the parents and introduced the Headmistress, Supervisors and Heads of the Departments. Madam Principal, during her address, mentioned about the journey and vision of the Sagar Group and how it is catering to the basic needs of individuals and impacting communities with a focused mission to ‘Build Nation’. Furthermore, she explained parents about the core values and pillars of the school wherein the guiding principle always remains as ‘Child is Supreme’. She urged everyone to sincerely and diligently work towards the same. She also highlighted the mission statement of the school that integrates the latest Technological Aids, Interdisciplinary Approach and employment of Innovative Pedagogy to shape academic excellence in the school. She also stressed on the importance of sports, performing arts and other extra-curricular activities in bringing out the best from the students. She requested the whole hearted cooperation of all the parents not only to monitor the growth of their child but also indulge in regular interaction with teachers and school authorities to give constructive feedbacks which will accrue benefits to the complete school. Headmistress’ of the school enlightened the parents about the beginning of the new session and various initiatives to be taken by the school to bring out the overall personality enhancement of the students. Admin Manager and transport Manager guided the parents about the administrative and transport support being provided by the school. The Orientation Programme provided a platform to the parents and school authorities to work out a common future roadmap for their children. It also helped the parents in understanding the follow-up procedures required to strengthen the learning process of their kids.

74th Republic Day Celebration

"Republic Day is an occasion to mark our respect and gratitude to our great Nation and its Constitution. Today is the day to cherish our freedom and feel proud to be citizen of the largest democracy in the World." Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar celebrated 74th Republic Day with complete zeal, enthusiasm and patriotic fervour. The celebrations began with unfurling of the National Flag in school premises. On this solemn occasion, Sagarites presented various soul-stirring performances to show India's journey to become an Independent, Sovereign and Republic Nation, surmounting all the odds. The sacrifice of the bravehearts who laid down their lives for Nation was also remembered through the rendition of patriotic songs and dance performances which filled everyone's heart with pride. Addressing the gathering on the occasion, Ms Alpa Prabhu, Madam Principal, spoke about the importance of our constitution and the fact that we are fortunate to be part of the largest democracy in the world. She also highlighted that we enjoy so many rights which have been provided to us through our Constitution and it is all possible due to vision and hard work of our founding fathers. Dean of Academics, Mr S. S. Shrivastava, also spoke on the occasion. He mentioned about the invaluable role of Armed Forces personnel in safeguarding our borders and giving us unhindered freedom which we enjoy everyday. Today's event was a celebration of our Nation’s progress and great heritage. A Nation that has surmounted all obstacles and stands before the world with its unparalleled virtues of 'Unity in Diversity' and 'Strength in its Democracy'.

Inter School Mini Cricket Tournament

"YOU DON'T WIN OR LOSE THE GAMES BECAUSE OF 11 YOU SELECT. YOU WIN OR LOSE WITH WHAT THOSE 11 DO ON THE FIELD." .....RAHUL DRAVID Cricket is passion and this passion is revered across nations. It is one of the most played, admired and watched sports on the planet. Playing cricket is like a celebration and it is enjoyed by one and all. To celebrate this festival of sports, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar got the opportunity to host the Inter School Mini Cricket Tournament for Under 12 boys on 20-21 Jan 2023, wherein 11 teams of different schools participated with complete zeal and enthusiasm. This competition was aimed to give a platform to budding cricketing stars and develop sportsmanship spirit in players of different teams. Mr Jatin Saxena, a famous cricketer, who is a former IPL player from the Rajasthan Royals team, was the Chief Guest for the competition. The final was played between Bal Bhavan School and SPS, Rohit Nagar. In this keenly contested match, Bal Bhavan School emerged winners and bagged the coveted Inter School U-12 Boys Mini Cricket Championship Trophy for the year 2023. The participants were subsequently felicitated and awarded individual trophies by the Guest of Honour of Closing Ceremony - Mr. Joyson John, Sports Coordinator, District Education Office. During his closing remarks, he motivated the young players to continue working hard to achieve their dreams and bring glory to the Nation.

National Youth Day

Birth Anniversary of Swami Vivekananda is commemorated as National Youth Day on 11 January every year. Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar also celebrated this occasion with zeal and profound gratitude towards this great visionary and patriot. As health and fitness of students plays a pivotal role in school’s curriculum around the year, therefore, the school selected “Yoga" as the main theme to commemorate this day. The aim was to raise concentration levels of students, infuse leaning towards meditation, and continue their journey on the path of 'Healthy Body - Healthy Mind'. Students performed various Yoga asanas in perfect harmony, rhythm and balance. All 12 asanas of Surya Namaskar were also performed by the students to display their strength and agility. The function concluded with a meditation session to give students a chance to introspect and rejuvenate their minds which will ultimately lead to better concentration levels and sense of accomplishment in them.

PTM - IV

Education is a shared commitment between dedicated teachers, motivated students and enthusiastic parents. Parent Teacher Meeting - IV for Classes Nursery to XI was held on the 7 January, 2023 to create a common platform, wherein teacher and parents came together to discuss student’s performance and devise ways to enrich their learning experience. Discussions were focused on students' specific strengths and weakness in individual subjects, details of various activities organised including academics activities conducted in the school. The healthy discussion between teachers and parents facilitated in evolving innovative teaching methodologies specific to each student and also helped to resolve several issues. Parents were also apprised about the academic performance of their ward and were also shown their answer script. This meeting also provided an opportunity to parents to go through the creative work of their wards which was done through a variety of well planned curricular and co-curricular activities. The event witnessed around 80% attendance of parents thus displaying their enthusiastic interest towards the smooth working and progress of the school. The meeting concluded with a key takeaway that the path of a child's progress is laid by the joint efforts of parents and teachers.

Annual Sports Meet 2022

Autograph your work with excellence.” Jessica Guidobono If there is one field of life that teaches us the most valuable lessons about the fact that perseverance, and patience constitutes a perfect character, it is Sports. 24th of December, 2022, marked the Annual Sports Meet of Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar portraying the zeal, talents and spirit of sportsmanship of our high-spirited Sagarites. The program commenced with the morning assembly in the benign presence of the Chief Guest Mr. Alok Khare who himself is the General Secretary of the School Games federation of India, an excellent sportsman and a profound businessman. In his address he guided and motivated the students that sports and academics go hand in hand and those who keep a balance between the two excel and succeed. A robust mind and a lively body is the fundamental requirement to live a long and happy life and our belief in the same was seamlessly displayed in a heart warming and soul nourishing Yoga and Mass Demonstration that aimed to enlighten the audience about the merits of living a fit and healthy life. The program plunged the audience into a deep sense of discipline and chauvinism with a very synchronised display of March Past headed by the Head boy and Head girl of the school followed by all the house bearers of the four houses. Sagarites right from Nursery to Class XII performed and participated in the Annual Sports Meet through different relay races, and athletic events and won various positions. One of the key highlighted moment for the day was felicitation of all the best players - Boy and Girl from nine different sports. Among all the players the Best Sports Person of the year 2022 was given to Divyansh Shakya IX D. Various Annual awards for different fields like Literary Academic, Cultural, and Discipline were awarded. The award for the Best Student of the Year was conferred to Devansh Mishra and Sanchita Gupta of Class V. The winners were awarded in the presence of their parents and the enthusiasm and Sagarion spirit could be seen in each Sagarite that filled their heart with the zeal to win and succeed in all walks of life.

Flip a Book Activity

“Books and doors are the same thing. You open them, and you go through into another world.” - Jeanette Winterson If you love the written word, you probably have a stash of books somewhere in your home. Jacketed or rugged, the smell empowers you. Sagarites of Nursery to Class V excitedly participated in an innovative and cohesive Flip a book activity conducted on Dec 19, 2022, wherein they exchanged the books already read by them with their friends. The objective of this activity was to show our Sagarites a path to acquire knowledge, develop camaraderie with each other and imbibe sense of inclusivity on the common platform of acquiring knowledge from peers and friends. The activity was also aimed at motivating young readers and make them understand the worth of sharing with others. Students were amazed, happy and fascinated at the same time that their books will reach others and books owned by others will be theirs now. Students thoroughly enjoyed this intriguing session which provided them an opportunity to choose new books and were eclectic to get through it by reading them.

Sagar Utsav

agar Utsav - Celebrating Knowledge The season of learning and recreation is here, let us spread fun, love, cheer and make life a celebration of fun-filled learning, because at #SPS, every day is an Utsav. A colorful extravaganza, ‘Sagar Utsav’, mingled with fun and lots of learning was organized at Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar on Sunday, December 18, 2022, for celebrating knowledge through a fun-filled experience. It was a unique fair that had something in store for everyone. An enchanting storytelling session by famous psychologist, Ms. Jyoti Pande took the onlookers to an imaginary trail of mystifying stories with valuable tips on parenting and nurturing young minds. An enterprising career fair was held to help children in exploring, planning and excelling in various fields. Eminent universities like #CRISP, #UPES, #NID, #AZIM PREM JI, #SISTec, #IISER and many more facilitated career guidance and suggested diverse avenues to the students. A Book fair for book lovers with an interesting activity, Flip a Book was organized wherein children exchanged their old books and also bought books of different genres. Yet another attraction of the event was the SPS Recreational Zone which comprised of activities like Puppet Show, Zumba, and various games like target basketball, gladiator, target shooter, musical chair and poolside games which enthralled the parents and the students. The selfie board and the lucky coupon draw box were the points of excitement for all. The event ended on a cheerful note where all the participants left with memories to cherish and knowledge to generate curiosity and zeal to create something great artistically.

Scholarship Awards-Accolades Galore

It was time to meet and bless Sagarites as they achieved yet another milestone in their life. It was time to remember that success isn’t always about greatness. It’s about consistency. Consistent hard work leads to success. Greatness follows. Yes, it was time for the Scholarship Awards: 2021-22. With immense pleasure, we at Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar hosted the Felicitation Ceremony, on Wednesday, September 21, 2022 for Class X and XII (2021-22) and disbursed scholarship amount ranging from Rupees 5000 to Rs 1,60,000 to the meritorious students who had scored perfect 100 or 96 % and above in the board exams. Scholarships were also awarded to students who excelled in Performing Arts. The gleaming faces of the teachers, students and parents bore testimony to their pride and happiness- the sweet fruit of toil and labour. The ceremony was witnessed by the present batch of X and XII who left with dreams in their eyes and responsibility on their shoulders.

Aashirwaad - The Grandparents Day

“When God created Grandparents, the world was truly blessed with all the special joys that make a family happiest. To show gratitude to their grandparents, for their tireless efforts, unconditional love, kindness, patience and care, the young Sagarites of class II invited their grandparents and celebrated Aashirwaad - The Grandparents Day on September 17, 2022. As a mark of tradition, the programme began by seeking blessing from the Almighty. The programme was followed by a graceful saraswati vandana, melodious song performance, mesmerizing folk dance and thoughtful skit which touched the hearts of our grandparents. Many exciting games were also conducted to make the grandparents remember their older days. Towards the end, the pandora box was opened with colourful pictures creating everlasting memories of grandparents with their grandchildren. Sagarites showered their love and gratitude by giving hand made bookmarks to their grandparents wishing them good health and all the happiness in life.

“A great leader can engage in a debate frankly and thoroughly knowing well that at the end, he and the other side will come closer and thus emerge stronger.” (Nelson Mandela) With this perspective, Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar organised the ninth edition of the Inter School Debate Competition, “Carpe Diem - Seize the Day” on September 3, 2022. The topic of the debate was, “Electric vehicles are the wave of the future.” The judges for the event were Dr. Deepa S. Kumar, Professor, MLB College and Dr. Mitradeep Bhattacharjee, Assistant Professor, IISER. Speakers from 18 prestigious schools of the city vied for the honours, using skills like overstatement rhetoric and irony to convince the audience. All the teams exhibited great oratorical skills and validated their arguments confidently and emphatically. In the engrossing and fiery exchange of thoughts and ideas that were based on thoroughly researched facts and not merely opinions, the debate served its purpose of igniting young minds to newer ways of thinking and acting. At the end of the heated but engaging debate, Arpit Chatrasal of St. Paul Co-Ed School bagged the 1st prize For the Motion and Pravallika Pandey of Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar bagged the 1st prize Against the Motion. Sagar Public School Gandhi Nagar was awarded the rolling trophy for being the overall winner. Roopanshi Khare of Army Public School, Bhopal was declared the runners up For the Motion and Aadya Singh of Delhi Public School, Kolar Road was declared runners up Against the Motion. Best Interjector for and against the motion were won by Chaitanya Sharma (for the motion) and Anviksha Shrivastava (against the motion) from Sagar Public School, Saket Nagar. The winners were awarded with trophies, certificates, kindles, smart watches and Bluetooth speakers. The mentor teachers of all the schools also received a token of appreciation. The day concluded with participation certificates and food packet distribution to all the teams along with the group photographs of all the teams as a souvenir.

Soulful Expressions-Nrityollas 2022-23

To ignite patriotic fervour in young hearts, close to the heels of Independence Day, Senior Inter House- Nrityollas and Junior Inter House-Soulful Expressions was organised on 10 Aug 2022 on the theme, Unsung Heroes in the Indian Freedom Struggle. All houses of the school participated in the same and depicted the sacrifices of Unsung heroes through their captivating Dance- Drama Performances. Sagarites celebrated the bravery and sacrifices of Jhalkari Bai, Birsa Munda, Pritilata Wadedar, Pandurang Mahadev Bapat, Komaram Bhim, Tanaji, Matangini Hazra and Dasharath Manjhi. The dance fiesta witnessed a neck to neck competition & some heart touching performances by the students.
