Carpe Diem 2025 – Inter-School Debate Competition

The twelfth edition of the Inter-School Debate Competition, Carpe Diem – Seize the Day, was hosted by Sagar Public School, Gandhi Nagar on 23 August 2025. The motion for the day was “The Gig Economy Empowers the Youth with Flexibility and Independence.”\r\nThe event was adjudicated by two distinguished personalities—Mr. Rajiv Mishra, Founder & CCO, Mystique 7, and Mr. Bhaskar Indrakranti, eminent educator and entrepreneur. Eighteen leading schools of the city participated, making the occasion a vibrant confluence of intellect and eloquence.\r\nThe debate featured spirited exchanges with participants showcasing conviction, sharp rhetoric, and sound arguments that inspired critical thinking.\r\nResults – Carpe Diem 2025\r\nBest Speaker For the Motion – Winner: Ekta Singh (SPS Katara Extension)\r\nBest Speaker For the Motion – Runner Up: Areen Ali (SPS Gandhi Nagar) → handed over to Lakshman Padmanabhan (SPS Saket Nagar)\r\nBest Speaker Against the Motion – Winner: Megha Shrivastava (SPS Gandhi Nagar) → handed over to Saujas Khandelwal (SPS Dwarka Dham)\r\nBest Speaker Against the Motion – Runner Up: Ziya Khan (St. Joseph’s Co-Ed School)\r\nBest Rebutter For the Motion: Kashish Dadlani (Holy Family Convent Sr. Sec. School)\r\nBest Rebutter Against the Motion: Delisha Rajput (International Public School)\r\nOverall Winner Trophy: SPS Gandhi Nagar → handed over to St. Joseph’s Co-Ed School\r\nWinners were felicitated with trophies, certificates, and cash prizes: ₹10,000 (Best Speaker – Winner), ₹8,000 (Best Speaker- Runner Up), and ₹5,000 (Best Rebutter- For & Against the Motion). Mentor teachers were also honored with tokens of appreciation.\r\nThe event concluded as a true celebration of intellect, fairness, and oratory excellence.
